This event is one part of "Peace-ing Communities Together," a weekend-long peace building conference for young adults.  Community members are invited to join conference participants for the keynote address by Joey Borgogna, lunch and live musical performances.

About the Keynote Speaker:

Joey Borgogna manages the Creative Visions Center in Los Angeles, CA – an organization that uses arts and media to inspire and support creative activists who believe in the power of an individual to positively change our world. As a “creative activist,” Joey has traveled all over the world on different service projects.  Most recently, he was in DR Congo filming a documentary project about an art exchange program between at risk youth in downtown Los Angeles and children in the displacement camps in Congo.  The goal was to show peace between the two different cultures, empower the kids in a conflict zone (Congo) and show the kids in Los Angeles the power they also have to make a positive change in their local and global community. Joey believes in the power of everyone to evoke positive change in their local and global community, and that peace exists amongst community- a global community- but it starts locally.
